Looking for fun, engaging, and meaningful activities to spice up your writing block or to help improve your student’s observational skills and who are struggling with their writing?
Students use the thinking routine Zoom it, to See, Think, Wonder about an image. They can use digitally by either typing, using the drawing pen or the microphone. If using the pen, they then need to delete the ‘type here’ text box. To use microphone just click in the text box and click on dictate.
Zoom-In is a routine that encourages students to look closely and make interpretations as they build understanding. This routine reveals, section by section, a Christmas image. Click on the 1st slide. Orally talk about what the students see, think, wonder. They can fill out the first part of the worksheet. Click on the 2nd slide. What can students now see, think and wonder? Fill out worksheet for slide 2. Click on the last slide. Were student’s observations, thinking and wondering answered by the last slide?
