Description

Dangerous Marine Creatures Snap is a fun and engaging resource to help your students learn about the dangerous animals that could be lurking in the water!

This is a versatile resource played using the same principles of traditional snap. The game should be played in groups of 4 to 6 and the deck should be dealt out evenly into piles of cards. Each snap card has a picture and information of a dangerous marine creature displayed on it. Each player starts with their decks face down and places cards onto the pile without looking at them beforehand. If a player places a card on top of a card that is identical, whoever snaps the pile fastest wins the round and they add the pile of cards to their existing hand. Keep playing until there are no cards left.

The cards can also be used for a variety of other fun games that will also engage your students in learning about dangerous marine creatures. Not only will these cards help your students to learn about these creatures and the hazards they present, they’re also fantastic to have on hand for fast finishers.

A two-page worksheet is also included in this resource to help reinforce your students’ knowledge about dangerous marine creatures, which also encourages them to investigate treatments for injuries caused by these animals.

This resource has been designed for the NSW NESA Marine and Aquaculture Technology Years 7-10 Syllabus but can be used with students from a range of stages and learning levels.

Pack includes:

  • 15 x Dangerous Marine Creatures Snap cards.
  • 1 x 2-page PDF Dangerous Marine Creatures Snap worksheet.
  • Lesson plan with teacher instructions and game instructions.
