Description

Students use gamification to explore the process of digestion in the human body in a classic twist on snakes and ladders.

A memorable and exciting activity for students to develop their understanding of food technology content.

This resource is a great way to revise the digestion process after it has been explicitly taught to students, so they are familiar with the content.

Students play through the game, answering the questions on the game board as they go. Students record their answers to check at the end of the game. If the students land on a question that they cannot answer, they must research the question and provide the answer to all students playing on their board.

‘The Digestion Game’ is designed to be printed A3 and distributed among students to ensure that they have an active role in the activity. Ideally, it is four students to a game board. Print multiple copies of this game to create a class set.

‘The Digestion Game’ can be differentiated for individual students needs at the discretion of the teacher.

Please note: There is also a digestion worksheet written into the food selection and health student workbook from Innovate Year 9 that follows the digestion game.

Pack includes:

  • 1x A3 Digestion Game – PDF
  • 2-page (26 questions) digestion game sheet
  • Game Rules
  • Teacher instructions
  • Teacher Answers

PLEASE NOTE: You will need dice and counters for your students to play the game.

It was good and looks fantastic, however the kids found some of the questions quite hard, there needs to be more explicit teaching of the digestion process than what is stated in the program + class booklet before playing the game, or may be more suitable for Stage 6
