This set of 12 Quick Writes has the student looking at a picture prompt, with vocabulary stems . Students write about the picture without stopping for 10 minutes. There are also slides where this time can be altered to whatever the teacher feels necessary for the students in their class.

Students should use descriptive language, 5 senses, imagery and creative hooks to write anything about the picture, from any perspective in any setting.

They might want their work to be:

• informative,
• a recount of when they saw that particular creature.
• a persuasive tale to keep the creature from extinction or they want it for a pet.
• an imaginative story with that creature as the main character
• a poem…..

The scope is endless..

This resource is an editable PowerPoint that students can write, draw, insert photos etc onto. The text is NOT EDITABLE though.

When using the Digital version students need to be in edit mode for both PowerPoint and Google Slides™ There is also a PDF for ease of printing, just print in grey scale, if you would like a booklet, a folder of images that can be used for Seesaw, other platforms or task cards. and compatible with Google Slides™.
