    Description

20 Measurement Math Task Cards where students can paste each task into their math book to work from throughout the lesson.

Each task card includes a warm-up, inquiry and reflection task as well as an extension task for early finishers.

    Included in this kit:

    • 5 x Length Task Cards
    • 5 x Mass Task Cards
    • 5 x Capacity and Volume Task Cards
    • 5 x Temperature Task Cards

This measurement unit has been broken into four sub-topics, in which you will find a week’s worth (20 cards) of tasks for length, mass, capacity and temperature. Including but not limited to activities such as running the distance, weight it up in order, cubic centimetre creations and what is warmer?

If you choose to use the task cards in order, the first of each topic can serve as a pre-assessment and the last as an assessment task.

Each task card is mapped to include both ACARA (year 3 and 4) and NSW (stage 2) learning outcomes.

ACARA Year 3- measure and compare objects using familiar metric units of length, mass and capacity, and instruments with labelled markings (AC9M3M02)

ACARA Year 4- interpret unmarked and partial units when measuring and comparing attributes of length, mass, capacity, duration and temperature, using scaled and digital instruments and appropriate units (AC9M4M01)

NSW Stage 2 – Measures, records, compares and estimates lengths, distances and perimeters in metres, centimetres and millimetres, and measures, compares and records temperatures (MA2-9MG)

    – Selects and uses appropriate mental or written strategies, or technology, to solve problems (MA2-2WM)
    – Uses appropriate terminology to describe, and symbols to represent, mathematical ideas (MA2-1WM)
