Use the visible learning feedback cards as a diagnostic tool for students to show you their understanding. These cards can help students bring to light concerns about their knowledge gaps in a way that is explicitly visible to the teacher. You can then use this feedback to ensure that students are developing a deeper understanding of concepts.

Add this type of formative assessment to your lessons to ensure that your students have the opportunity to convey their level of understanding at each step of the learning process. We recommend printing them and then folding them so the no explanation is with the no card, for example. We laminated ours, too, to make them super user friendly. You could make a class set and attach them with a key ring or split pin to make them easy to hand out or keep on the corner of each student’s desk.
