Life Skills Preparation, Processing and Properties of Food is an informative resource designed to teach Life Skills students about complex concepts in an easily understandable and a relatable way.
Students work through the Preparing Food PowerPoint to learn about the different ways to prepare, cook and store food before completing the questions in the corresponding worksheet. They can then learn about processing foods and the properties of food in a separate PowerPoint, after which they can reinforce their knowledge by completing another worksheet.
Sample answers for the two worksheets have also been included in this resource to allow teachers to discuss the correct answers with their Life Skills students. A lesson plan and teacher instructions have also been provided to make implementing this resource in the classroom a breeze.
This resource has been designed for Life Skills students studying the Food in Australia unit, but can also be used with students across a variety of learning levels and abilities.
